Humans have an incredible capacity for growth. Amazingly, the human mind can take any problem or challenge, break it down to its smallest component, and find ways to overcome. This is the gift of thought.
Yet, as spectacular as this process is, very few people ever tap into this incredible power. As a matter of fact, most people do whatever they can to avoid thinking.
Here in the U.S. we base most of our learning on memorization. We memorize the alphabet, the times table, the table of elements, all the rules and regulations we are expected to obey, religious teachings, and tons of other things.
However, very little time is spent teaching people how to think their own thoughts. It’s almost as if we are being trained not to think for ourselves. And when you couple that with the massive information over-load we are constantly bombarded with, it’s no wonder why people feel overwhelmed and out of control.
Here are three simple keys to help you start controlling your thinking process.
- Limit the time and quantity of outside influence. Take a conscious time out where you purposely shut down from the world. Turn off the TV, radio, Internet, even friends and family. Solitude is a great way to tap into the inherent powers of your mind.
- Develop a daily ritual to journal your thoughts, goals, challenges, and plans. Spending time on writing in your journal will force you to reflect on issues that are important to you.
- Take time each morning to focus on your most important life issues. Most people get up each morning listening to news or talk radio. Instead, be proactive and consciously analyze and strategize how to move forward in the areas that are most important to you. Success comes about because of planning and preparation.
If you truly want to break away from the average person who is living a life frustrated and confused, take the time to stop and THINK. Thinking is the one gift God gave man that separates us from animals and plants. It is what makes us co-creators.
Every religion on the planet tells us we are created in God’s image. However, if we neglect our in-born right to think, how are we living up to that precious gift God has provided us? Develop the habit of thinking daily. Consciously shut every thing down and think.
If you do, you will undoubtedly accomplish your goals at breakneck speed. The only question that remains is, “How Bad Do You Want It?”
Remember, It’s Your Time To Shine!
